Upper Mustang Trekking - A beautiful trekking trail of Nepal

Mustang shares a geography, culture and history similar to traditional Tibet. Located in northern most Nepal, behind the high Himalayan range, its high altitude desert has been shaped by wind and glaciations that have transformed the sedimentary deposits of the former Tethys Sea. Caves dug by prehistoric peoples can be seen etched in ancient cliffs, some of which include hundreds of interconnected rooms and tunnels. Cradled between the Ganges plain and the Tibetan plateau along the ancient Silk Road, Mustang has been influenced by numerous cultures. This is reflected in their sophisticated Buddhist philosophy which embraces pre-Buddhist shamanism and animism and is characterized by fierce omnipotent spirits. Please note that trekking in Mustang is sometimes more challenging than other treks due to screed slopes, strong winds, and greater temperature fluctuations.
